CHRISTIAN MOTORSPORT TEAM

The Crew

We are a small independent rally team based mostly in Suffolk. Not only are we a rally team, but we’re fully committed Christians to, with a passion for sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. We seek to do this by competing in events around the country and witnessing to competitors, spectators and organisers alike. On the side of our car is displayed the text ‘You must be born again’, taken from Jesus’ words to Nicodemus in John 3. We hope that the words on the car will spark conversation and interest in our beliefs. In accordance with God’s command, we do not compete on the Lord’s Day, which does limit the events we can compete in, but we are fully committed to living God’s way.

Testimony: I was born into a family who’s parents taught a fear of God (respect) in our home, and as a young child thought we lived forever in this world. After a relative died it made me change my mind on that idea. I was taken to a church from a baby to eleven years old and had been baptised as a baby and confirmed in the church of England when I was in my early teens, and went to church to please my parents. At high school I had a friend who was a Christian and in 1985 he invited me to go with him to go and hear Billy Graham at Ipswich town football club, which I said yes I would go with him. And I heard the gospel of Jesus for the first time, even though I had been in a church for most of my life. I heard that Jesus the son of God was willing to come into the world to sort out our sin and disobedience and to die in our place so that we are made right with God through Jesus alone, and that we can have a relationship with God. Billy Graham said at the end of his massage if anyone wanted to become a Christian to come down to the football pitch and speak to the Christians there, which I did - but I did not give my life to Jesus at that time. Two years later I started going to youth club at Occold run by Christians from a Baptist church. I went mainly for the girls! But God had a better reason. After a time some of the Christians asked me to go a church tea then to the service. I heard the gospel massage through the youth club talks, the testimony of the Christians and in the services. The truth of the gospel struck me as it did when I heard Billy Graham. I felt a conviction of my sin and that I had broken His Holy Laws. During a few weeks I knew that I had to do something. During this time the youth club had a special meeting with other youth clubs at my old high school and I was asked to help to set out some benches. I found out later that I was helping the speaker of the meeting - we had never seen each other before. After I had helped him he turned to me and asked did I want to become a Christian!? After thinking a moment I said yes I do, and he then said a prayer of repentance and trust in Jesus, and admitting my sin against a Holy God on my behalf, I whole heartily said Amen and knew that moment of peace with God. 2007 - Twenty years on from that moment in all the highs and lows of life God is Faithful! Even when I am not. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised.  Jesus said, “I am the Way the Truth and the Life no one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Testimony: I grew up in a Christian family, always being taught about Jesus and God, and the importance of knowing God personally. I always considered myself a good girl, and whilst always knowing I was never a true Christian, didn’t feel like I had anything to worry about. One day, when I was about 12, I was in church singing a hymn called Come and See by a chap called Graham Kendrick. I was really struck by the lyrics, which tell of the pain, suffering, loneliness and rejection that Jesus suffered. And I realised it was all because of my sin. Here I was, thinking I was a good little girl, but because of me, Jesus suffered the most tortuous death ever known, so that I could go to heaven and be with God. On that day, I became a Christian and committed my life to God. It’s far from easy, living life this way, but it’s the best way to live. I’ve had ups and downs, suffered from depression, but it’s brought me closer to God. ‘What doesn’t break you makes you stronger’. With God I have hope for the future, satisfaction with the present, and peace about the past. God fills every part of my life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I would love to see so many other people finding the same joy and peace I have found through becoming a Christian, and being involved with Alpha and Omega gives me the opportunity to share with others how amazing it is to be a Christian, whilst enjoying being part of the best sport in the world!
